     海湾国家启动GCC认证的时间不长，其技术标准和认证程序比较简单，还存在一个不断完善的过程。GCC认证的技术标准和其他一些新兴国家一样，都是采用了部分欧美等发达国家的标准，再结合本地区的地理、气候和适用条件的一些特点而形成的。除此之外，GCC认证的技术标准还归纳了一些科威特、沙特阿拉伯（SASO）等海湾国家原有的技术要求。 
    GCC认证与机动车辆及其部件有关的标准共80余个，其中涉及到整车安全的8个、整车排放的13个、发动机整机1个，涉及整车其他方面的22个，涉及机动车部件的31个，其他与机动车产品相关的5个。GCC认证涉及机动车辆和部件的主要标准见下表，此外沙特对GCC认证还存在额外的要求（见GCC认证的沙特标准）。

    总体而言，GCC标准对车辆技术水平和结构的要求与现行我国国内实施的强制标准要求相比有高有低。对于安全标准的要求比较高，涉及环境气候要求比较严格，客车乘客空间和行李舱空间要求较高；有些零部件如安全带、散热器、蓄电池等，与国标要求不同甚至比国标严格；但是对于排放指标、车辆外廓和质量参数的限制比较宽松。

• GCC标准对车辆技术水平和结构的要求对于安全标准的要求比较高，涉及环境气候要求比较严格，客车乘客空间和行李舱空间要求较高；有些零部件如安全带、散热器、蓄电池等要求高。
• 但是对于排放指标、车辆外廓和质量参数的限制比较宽松。
• 发动机冷却系统、客车的内部空间和行李舱容积、安装位置和标志标识、制动摩擦片和蓄电池等部件的材料要求、动力控制系统和排气系统的特殊要求。
• 我国车辆在进行GCC认证时，一定要做适应性的改装，使其适应中东地区常年高温、多沙尘、潮湿的环境要求。出口中东国家的汽车，发动机冷却系统应耐高温、越野性强，因为海湾地区夏季气温高达40-50℃，冬季气温也维持在20°C左右。车辆要配备大水箱，通过大水流循环增强发动机的散热性。使用大风扇、大电池、大发电机、大功率空调(不供暖)；使用宽轮胎，轮胎增加帘布层，以便耐高温，使用防风沙油漆，提高汽车表面硬度，四轮驱动，增强越野性；改进汽车内部装饰。
• 车辆的配置和内饰要符合地域文化和需求特点(阿拉伯文的说明、符合伊斯兰文化特点的内饰、大行李空间)。
